I am committed to supporting individuals and their family members through the treatment process, from assessment to aftercare by creating a safe healing relationship. Individual counseling is a great option for clients that may have either completed treatment or do not require a full time treatment program. We have an individualized treatment plan for every client. We provide both outpatient assessments and individual therapy.
Many of our clients need to be fully immersed in the treatment process in order to focus on the work of recovery, however our programming is rooted in a balanced approach of work, play and love.
The Portland and Glenwood Springs communities provide a wide range of outdoor activities, such as hiking, biking, fishing, skiing, climbing & camping.
Elk Family Reflections works within a strategic, organized approach to reaching an individual with a serious addiction problem who has been resistant to help. Everyone thinks addicts will accept treatment when they hit bottom. That’s not reality. For many, “bottom” turns out to be death. Waiting for someone to hit bottom is a tragic waste of valuable time.
When those we love suffer the isolation, denial, and destruction of chemical dependency, they rarely invent a solution for the problem. If reality were that simple, they would just stop the addictive behavior.
We believe the only failure in trying to help a suffering addict is the failure to act.
Intervention is not the last resort for helping someone you love – it is the first step in the right direction.
Intervention is more than just a confrontation; it is a compassionate process to reach a person in need. Our experience will not be an ambush or a group attack – it is a direct, loving communication about a life-threatening illness.
Substance abuse and other negative behaviors trap people in the fortress of their illness, well defended against accepting help. We use the strength of skill and the power of numbers to influence the addict to lower the emotional drawbridge, preparing him for treatment and recovery. We will build motivation for change in your loved one and in those who care about him – family, friends, and employer.
Effective intervention builds motivation in the afflicted individual to make the right choice.
A vital component of intervention is having treatment options immediately available when your loved one makes the decision to accept help. Connecting people in addiction crisis with the expert intervention, treatment, aftercare and follow-up services is essential to all involved with this process.
While your loved one completes primary treatment, an individualized, abstinence-based aftercare plan will be set up prior to treatment being completed. This realistic, long-term aftercare plan for sobriety insures the therapeutic beginnings of treatment will continue and is essential to prevent relapse.
